AGIOS GEORGIOS (22KM from Volos) One of Pelion's most picturesque villages, Agios Georgios is perched on the green mountainside with magnificent views across the Pagasetic Gulf. The village square offers a couple of tavernas in which you can eat and relax. The local church of Agios Georgios, with its ecclesiastical museum, the Taxiarhon convent and the local Art Museum of the sculptor Nichola, provide worthwhile diversions.
Agios Georgios is located only a short distance from the more famous village of Vizitsa, with its cobbled alleyways that wind through the classic Pelion style buildings.
Only a thirty minute drive away is Kala Nera on the Pagasetic Gulf, and an hour away the beaches on the Aegean side of the mountain.
Down below you can find the beautiful beaches of Kato Gatzea, Sikia, Malaki, where summer tourism is thriving.
