Argalasti is built on a fertile plateau, 41 km from Volos.
It was an economic and trading center during the Turkish occupation and has a rich cultural tradition. In the region, archaeologists have found remains from the ancient and Byzantine times, many of which are now embedded in buildings.
Impressive is the 25 m high bell tower of the main church of the Agioi Apostoloi, built in 1914 with local marble and stone.
Not far from the village in a magnificent location you can visit the impressive Byzantine monastery of Agios Nikolaos.
Beautiful beaches can be found at the lush villages of Pau (5 km) of Kalamos (6 km), andLefokastro (9 km).
