It is a group based in Pelion, Greece, formed a society ‘The Friends of the Kalderimi of South Pelion’ A Kalderimi is a cobbled mule path. They were constructed hundreds of years ago linking villages to one another. With the advance of mechanised transport many of these kalderimies have fallen into disuse and disappeared under a forest of vegetation.
The groups aim to promote and engage in the reopening and use of these paths. So far have established a network of about 80km of signed walking routes. Some of these are on kalderimi, and others on earth roads or simple footpaths.

The walks are circular, so you always end up where you started. Every walk description is accompanied by maps, photographs and GPS. There are both easy short walks and longer more strenuous ones."
Diving schools offer scuba courses to beginners and experienced divers giving particular emphasis on the safety rules which govern this wonderful sport.
Specially designed excursions for all divers' levels, to imposing marine environments at the foot of the majestic Pelion Mountain, will offer you the delightful experience of scuba diving.
A delightful way to get to knowPelion is by boat. You can hire a speedboat or go on one of the organized excursions to discover the region's magical beaches.
There is also a possibility for water sports such us rowing or canoe. Volos has two water sports clubs.
In the Pelions villages someone can try sea ski or other kind of sports.
There are short and longer trails through the forests of beech and chestnut trees, or along the beautiful coast of Pilion, with well trained horses and experienced instructors.
